Welcome to Nissan Rogue Reviews, if you’re looking for information about this vehicle then read on! We will also be adding reviews of new models as they are released.
Making its first debut in October 2007 the Rogue, from the Japanese giant Nissan has gained increasing popularity in various countries across the world. It’s classed officially as a compact crossover which basically means that it’s the half way house between a tall station wagon and an SUV. Families and people who like to shop are attracted to its roomy cabin, powerful engine and elegant ‘tough’ look.
The Nissan Rogue will comfortably accommodate four adults along with their entire luggage. You can actually fit 3 adults on the backseat, if they are not particularly broad shouldered or of large build. The back seat does fold forward to offer increased loading space in the back, as does the passenger seat at the front. The seats are fully adjustable and our only complaint would be that a bit more padding on the seats would have been nice.
Performance Overview
We found the ride quality in the Nissan Rogue to be acceptable, although perhaps a little softer on the suspension than we would have expected for such a vehicle. The performance of the engine was quite good and can move you fairly quickly if needed. One thing to note though, this isn’t a sports vehicle and if you’re looking for a fast and furious ride, the Rogue may not be the best choice. That being said, if you want a solid, reliable mode of transportation that will get you there safely then this vehicle is a good choice.
There’s a standard 170 hp 2.5 litre, 4 cylinder engine with the Rogue and no other options apart from front wheel drive or 4 wheel drive. We’d recommend the 4 wheel drive for sure. The engine offers around 22mpg around the city and 27mpg on open runs for the front wheel drive versions, and even the 4 wheel drive version is only around 1mpg lower.

Road noise can be quite noticeable on some surfaces but generally a quiet ride will be enjoyed by all, some models also are fitted with exciting paddles and simulated gears to give you more control on hilly roads. The Nissan Rogue is fitted with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) system which provides an easy driving experience.
Safety Features
As far as safety goes the Nissan Rogue fairs well, it’s been extensively tested for impact safety and the federal government awarded it 4 stars for frontal impact and 5 stars for side impact test results. At Nissan Rogue reviews we believe that this makes this vehicle an excellent choice for those with families.
Other safety features built into the Rogue include anti lock brakes, side and side curtain airbags plus electronic stability control. All of these features come as standard. It is also well equipped with other great features such as air conditioning, power windows and mirrors, a good quality audio system which you can control from the steering wheel and cruise control.
While the ‘S’ model gets you the basics mentioned above, if you want to ‘tart er up’ then you can upgrade to the ‘360 Value’ package. This will get you a nice set of 16 inch alloys, plus a whole host of other goodies such as….color coded rear spoiler, chrome grille, tinted rear glass, auto dimming rear view mirror plus a rear view monitor.
The SL trim range will get you lots more goodies such as the brilliant finish 17” alloys, color coded mirrors, leather trim, intelligent key entry system, roof bars, polished exhaust tip, cool looking HID headlamps & fog lights and a Bluetooth hands free system built in.
“The 2010 the Nissan Rogue also received the Consumers Digest Automotive Best Buy Award so you can buy with confidence!”
There were some small revisions made for the 2011 version. Trims were uprated to ‘S’ & ‘SV’. The ‘S’ is available in a rather tasty ‘Krom’ edition where you get polished 18” alloys, a center exit sports exhaust, an uprated front grille plus a few other styling revisions. The SV range is available with the optional ‘SL’ pack which will give you leather seats, a touch screen navigation system as well as a few others extras.
What’s New For The Nissan Rogue?
2012 sees Nissan drop the ‘Korm’ edition and replace it with the ‘Special Edition’ where you get 16” alloy wheels, premium audio equipment, satellite radio, a rear view monitor, fog lamps and privacy glass added to the basic ‘S’ trim. There’s also the option of a new exterior color plus they added a sport mode to the CVT transmission (thank goodness!), plus they revised the alloy wheel design slightly. You can still get the SL package on the ‘SV’ trim but now you also get a rather cool 4 camera ‘Around View’ system so you can see all around the vehicle on an LCD screen!
At Nissan Rogue reviews we were very pleased with this vehicle and can definitely recommend it for anyone who desires the larger vehicle, does not require high performance or a premium price tag. This vehicle will suit families and those who need the extra carrying space alike, you can also rest assured that you will be driving one of the safest vehicles around!
When compiling our final ratings we have taken all factors discussed in our review into consideration. If you decide to purchase a Nissan Rogue then we feel confident that you will be satisfied with your new vehicle.
